About the Venue

Théatre le Public Théâtre Le Public was born out of the passion, determination, and slightly mad dreams of two artists, Patricia Ide and Michel Kacenelenbogen. In 1994, they established Le Public in the former Aerts brewery in Saint-Josse-ten-Noode, transforming it into a performance venue with the help of scenographer, architect, and friend Luc D’Haenens. The initiative, originally funded with their own resources, was a bold and ambitious undertaking.

About the Project

Théâtre Le Public Invests in 72 Dedolight DLED7 Neo Bi-Colour Fixtures with Custom Centralized Power Solution Award-winning precision lighting meets practical innovation for low-ceiling performance spaces Renowned Brussels-based venue Théâtre Le Public has taken a major step forward in lighting flexibility and efficiency by ordering 72 units of the Dedolight DLED7 Neo Bi-Colour, paired with a custom-built centralized power supply system. Dedolight, the Oscar-winning brand celebrated for its unmatched optical precision, delivers once again with the DLED7N-BI: a compact, high-output fixture known for its clean beam control, superior color rendering, and smooth dimming across the full CCT range. These features make it a favorite among cinematographers and lighting designers alike. What sets this installation apart is the centralized PSU system, designed to power six DLED7 Neo fixtures simultaneously, each with individual control, via custom-length extension cables. This streamlined setup reduces clutter, simplifies rigging, and dramatically cuts down on heat and noise overhead—ideal for low-ceiling theatres and compact studio environments where space and silence are at a premium. “We needed a solution that would deliver professional-quality lighting with pinpoint accuracy, without overwhelming our ceiling space or electrical infrastructure,” says Louis-Philippe Duquesne from Théâtre Le Public. “Dedolight and this tailored PSU system exceeded our expectations.” This investment showcases how traditional venues can embrace modern, energy-efficient lighting solutions without compromising on quality, precision, or creative control.

Technical Challenges

Low ceiling heights and limited electrical infrastructure posed significant challenges for traditional lighting setups. The custom centralized power system eliminates the need for individual power supplies at each fixture location, reducing heat generation and electrical complexity while maintaining full individual control over each of the 72 DLED7 Neo fixtures.
